Straight off an unbelievable piece of vinyl from way back in 2006, this edit of the Jorge (brother of Carlos) Santana classic has become a firm favourite in the Cher camp. It’s got an absurdly long drum intro, and its wavering BPM makes it an absolute nightmare to mix in and out of, but grab yourself a lady, look deep into her eyes, and by the time the octave-driven bassline drops she’ll either be soul putty in your arms or running for the hills.
This is the best in a series of Underdog edits that notably include a rework of the Star Wars ‘Cantina’ theme. All are available digitally, and well worth the dollar.
